WSK Season to resume in May

Italy has been under some serious pressure recently, thanks to the new Covid-19 virus. It has lead to entire towns being placed into quarantine, with heavy travel restrictions placed on the entire country.

That has forced the entire sporting world to be placed on hold and the karting world is no exception. With their entire calendar based in Italy, the WSK series has had to re-think it’s schedule.

So far, the events that have been affected are Rounds 3 and 4 of the Super Masters series at La Conca and Sarno as well as the opening round of the Euro series, also at Sarno. The promoters have now released a new schedule, which will see racing resume in May.

The 3rd round of the Super Masters series will now be held on May 3rd at La Conca, with the finale staying at Sarno, now to be run on May 24th. The Euro series will now open up at Lonato on June 7th, originally scheduled to be round 2. Adria will hold it’s original date on July 26th but will now be round 2. The Euro Series will finish with the rescheduled event at Sarno, running on August 2nd. So far, the open cup running in September and November as well as the Final Cup at Lonato are unaffected.

While we wait for the karting season to kick back into life, we wish all those currently suffering and fighting Covid-19 all the best, see you in La Conca.
